Your camera of choice.
Hi, help me to have something to dream about as I teach again tomorrow........what is your camera and how do you feel about it, good close-ups and can focus in from a good distance away? Does it have a dock/recharge station and how quick is it to kick back in between photos? All info. welcome. Too tired to write anything else.........

  1. I have a Sony (not sure about the model off hand) I chose the one that uses AA batteries... I did not want to be dependent upon special batteries. I have been known to leave the camera on - killing the battery. It is far easier to pop into a convenience store and buy AA batteries...

  2. We all have Kodak in our family. My son has a new one with a docking station. Loves it. Ours is an older one but still does a great job. We use rechargable batteries.

  3. I have a Sony cybershot 6.0. It works well and has rechargable batteries. It does great close-ups and switches itself off after a few minutes if accidentally left on. I'm not a great photographer, but the camera makes me look good.

  4. I have a Minolta - it is several years old at this point, large compared to today's models, but the images are great, uses AA batteries. I can figure out how to use it - it must be simple. I would certainly consider the same brand in the future.

  5. Well I splurged! I bought a Canon 400D. I love it. It came with a twin lens pack too.

www.cameraworld.com.au - very good service and cheaper than Harvey Norman.

I would say get one with a rechargeable battery pack - definitely. AA batteries are chewed up so quickly - esp if you're using a flash.

Also, get yourself a large memory card - and choose an 'ultra-fast' one if that's an option :)

Dream away, dream away, dream away!

  6. I have a Canon Digital Elph SD600. Easy to use, takes great photos inc close-ups and has a large viewing screen. It has a special rechargeable battery but I'm amazed at how long it can go before needing to be recharged. Can take multiple photos very quickly. Has all sorts of features that I never even use that would improve the photos still more. All the photos on my blog are taken with this camera or our previous camera, also a Canon Elph.

  8. Sorry to answer your question so late, you know life! I have a Nikon coolpix 4600 and I am very happy with it. It has AA batteries and the menu is easy to use. The leaflet is easy to understand as well and the Picture Project very useful. My mother has a newer Nikon and is happy with it as well. A good place to get ideas is Amazon where you can read the comments of other buyers, especially useful when 2 or more comments are there. Take care.

  9. I'm using my second FinePix by Fujifilm and love it. It came with electric cord for easy battery recharging. My first one was the A303 and had excellent very close up. Now I have the F20 and love it. Easy to use. Good screen which my old one lacked. Suggest you make a list of what features you want and then compare on web. Have fun.
